Vancouver Sex Worker Beating Suspect Sketch, Video Released

WATCH: Brutal Attacker's Van Caught On Tape

Vancouver police have released a suspect sketch and video in the brutal assault of a sex worker who was beaten and dragged from a van last week.

The man is described as "white with a tanned complexion, balding with a moustache or goatee" and may have an Australian accent, said Sgt. Randy Fincham in a Monday news release.

He may have been driving a white panel with roof racks, which was caught on video surveillance that police also released on Monday.

Last week, a Downtown Eastside sex worker was picked up and driven to a secluded area where she was allegedly tied up and beaten. Fearing for her life, the woman, 42, escaped by jumping from the moving van.

Several 911 calls were made from witnesses who reported seeing a woman being dragged by a van on Clark Street, according to police.

Police were unable to find the man after an extensive search.
