SASKATOON - The City of Saskatoon is reporting a $5-million surplus for 2012 and already has some ideas on how to spend the money.
Mayor Don Atchison says the windfall is from higher than expected parking and traffic ticket revenue and surpluses from Credit Union Centre, TCU Place and Shaw Centre.
Atchison says he would like the cash to go toward repairing roads, maintaining bridges, snow removal and savings.
City council is to decide Monday what to do with the surplus.
