It was all Saskatchewan all the time when Edmonton hosted the first ever Roller Derby Association of Canada’s (RDAC) national championship over the weekend.
For the first time in the association's history, teams from across the country came together under one roof to crown a top contender from amongst their own, and it was two Saskatchewan teams that faced off at the finals.
The tournament took place at West Edmonton Mall, with teams traveling from Nelson, Regina, Saskatoon, Moncton and Saint John, N.B. to compete for the title, according to the CBC.

"It was an incredibly exciting weekend and felt like a piece of roller derby history in the making," Tracy Niven, spokesperson for Edmonton's E-Ville Roller Derby, told The Huffington Post.
E-Ville, the only Alberta entry to make the championship, finished third in the national event.
Roller Derby sees two all-female teams take to an oval track and engage in full-contact competition as they try to score points against their opponents.
Saskatoon's MindFox took home Canada's Roller Derby title after defeating provincial counterparts Regina Sugar Skulls 148 to 245 in the finals, Metro reported.
