The hair looks at Toronto Fashion Week seem to be drawing just as much attention as the actual clothes.
First, Pink Tartan's show on March 18 featured blond, 60s-inspired wigs, drawing criticism on Twitter for looking 'fake' and 'cheap.'
And now, on day two of Toronto Fashion Week (also known as World MasterCard Fashion Week) Sid Neigum debuted a very daring hairstyle on the runway at David Picault Square on March 19.
Fashionistas took to Twitter to react to the insanely high, leather-bound ponytails. Reviews were mixed, with some critics and fashion editors raving about the Sid Neigum show and the severe, samurai-inspired hair look, including Elle Canada, who tweeted:
"Samurai meets the Matrix vibe at @SidNeigum. Thinking about doing my hair like that tomorrow. Thoughts?"
Others seemed confused by the dramatic 'do:
"Why your hair gotta be like that gurl? #wmcfw #toronto #sidneigum"
Still others thought the style looked more silly than chic.
"Hehe, lollipop hair. #wmcfw"
Although the sky-high hair took centre-stage via social media, the collection itself was not overlooked. Editors and fashion bloggers were markedly impressed with the minimalist designs, smart tailoring and leather accents.
