Man killed after being struck by train in Saint-Hyacinthe

A man in his 60s has died after being hit by a train this afternoon in Saint-Hyacinthe, east of Montreal.

Quebec provincial police said the incident happened at about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, on a rural private road.

According to police, the man was filling potholes when he was struck by a CN freight train.

The train driver was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for shock.
