Heritage Minute Parody Pays Tribute To Heritage Minutes (VIDEO)

WATCH: A Parody Tribute To Heritage Minutes

If you were around in Canada during the 1990s you probably saw more than your fair share of Heritage Minutes, those short clips highlighting famous (and not so famous) moments in Canadian history. Some of those shorts (Burnt Toast! Peach baskets! Molly Johnson!) even wormed their way into pop culture.

Fourgrounds Media, a film and TV production house from Niagara, Ont. made this loving tribute to those minutes.

"These filmmakers overcame all odds in their journey to produce such a body of work," the voice over in the video states.

"Little did they know that these films will become more of our heritage than the moments themselves," it adds.

Last year, the Historica-Dominion Institute released a new Heritage Minute tied to the 200th anniversary of the war of 1812. A second new minute will be released later this year.
