Miranda Kerr Victoria's Secret Contract: Average Age Of Angel Retirement Is 28

Average Retirement Age Of A Victoria's Secret Angel? 28

Miranda Kerr has been dropped as one of the Victoria's Secret Angels just shy of her 30th birthday, with US Weekly reporting that the lingerie brand did not renew Miranda's contract because of her "difficult reputation" and diva-like behaviour.

But there may be another, more pragmatic reason for the axing of the popular Angel -- at age 29, Miranda is practically ancient compared to her spritely model counterparts. According to Buzzfeed, the average age of retirement for a Victoria's Secret model is just 28.

Even the highest-paid supermodel in the world, Gisele Bündchen, called it quits when she was just 26 years old.

Now, we all know models are made of different stuff than the rest of us, but is it really impossible to have a lingerie-ready body past a certain age? There are other-worldly Angels -- like Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio -- who seem defy nature.

Whatever the reason for Miranda's wings being clipped, we're not worried about her prospects -- Kerr is still young and beautiful. Oh, and her three-year contract is reportedly worth $1 million.

Check out the retirement age for some previous Victoria's Secret Angels:

  • Heidi Klum, 37
  • Tyra Banks, 32
  • Laetitia Casta, 21
  • Izabel Goulart, 24
  • Selita Ebanks, 27

  • Miranda Kerr, 29
