VANCOUVER - The wife of former Vancouver Olympic chief executive John Furlong has been killed in a car accident in Ireland.
Furlong says in a statement that Deborah Sharp Furlong died Thursday while vacationing in southeast Ireland. She was 48.
Police in Ireland say the car she was driving collided head-on with a vehicle near Gorey, Ireland. She was taken by air ambulance to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
