Missing Quebec 26-Year-Old Woman Found Alive In Ditch

A 26-year-old Quebec woman who had been missing since last Thursday has been found by police.

Sara Okafor was reported missing last week after she was last seen leaving her apartment in the Le Faubourg Boisbriand neighbourhood of Saint-Thérèse.

Quebec provincial police Sgt. Benoit Richard said Okafor was found with minor injuries in a ditch on the side of a road in Kahnawake.

After she was found by Kahnawake police on Sunday, the young woman was transported to a hospital in the Montérégie region where she met with investigators.

Richard said it was possible Okafor was kidnapped.

“First information that was coming to us is that she could have been a victim of a kidnapping,” he said.

Richard said investigators are still going over their information to find out what happened.
