Michael Bublé: Juno Awards Host Promises No Nudity (But Seriously, 'It's Not About Me')

Junos Host Michael Bublé Promises No Nudity

To say Michael Bublé is jazzed (sorry) about hosting the 2013 Juno Awards on Sunday, April 21, in Regina, SK, is a giant understatement.

"It’s a massive honour," Bublé told journalists during a Saturday press conference, standing in the same spot he’ll stand during Sunday night’s awards. “I was a little boy watching this growing up.”

The crooner, who also acted as head writer for the show, is a natural choice for host: he's charismatic, he's funny, he's self-deprecating, and he's good looking in that 'take home to mom' way. This, of course, prompted questions about whether he’d ever shelve music to concentrate acting. "A la JT? No," he said. “I'm a singer who loves to act and I'm a singer who loves comedy, but I'm a singer first."

He also has no plans to show any skin during the Junos awards like previous host Nelly Furtado, despite the question of the afternoon: “Will we see any Michael Bublé thigh?"

“Like, nudity?” he answered earnestly. “Shit no."

Nevertheless, Bublé still promises the Junos will be entertaining — but it's also important to him that he "do right by his peers," who he evidently admires a lot.

“I want it to be funny and loose, but it’s not about me,” he added. “I don’t want to be pulling all the focus.”
