SOLD!
RE/MAX REAL ESTATE Central

It looks like Jarome Iginla's Calgary legacy has officially come to an end.

The former Calgary Flame's massive, $3.995 million mansion has been sold, and according to the Calgary Herald it fetched the full asking price after only one day on the market.

"I was quite confident it would sell," said listing agent Donna Rooney. "I thought it would sell by Friday."

The 11,000 square foot home has five-bedrooms, six-bathrooms, spectacular views of the Calgary skyline, a wine room on the main floor and a four-car garage.

And while selling a luxury property in just one day may seem speedy to some, it's nothing new to Calgary real estate agents.

"We are a very wealthy city," Ann-Marie Lurie of the Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB) told CBC Calgary.

"There's people who have been continually earning wages that are higher, we have very strong employment growth -- and all of this is factoring into that demand for housing."

According to the CREB, the number of homes selling for more than a million dollars is up in Calgary at 240 so far this year, compared to 171 last year.

The Calgary Flames traded away Iginla to the Pittsburgh Penguins just a few weeks ago.
