Drew Green has been on the forefront of Canada's emerging online shopping market, and he understands why Canadian consumers have lagged behind other countries in terms of the amount of money and time they are spending in e-commerce.
The first thing he wants to make clear is: "It's not Canadians fault."
According to Green, founder and CEO of Shop.ca, the Canadian market has not adequately served the needs of the Canadian market, forcing them to shop on U.S. sites.
"Canadians, in terms of online shopping, have really grown up moreo shopping in the United States than in Canada," said Green. "And it hasn't been their fault. There just has not been a lot of options for them to shop at home, if you will."
Green sees that changing.
"Now is our time to be bold," he says, in a video interview conducted in March at the Dx3 Conference in Toronto.
