New Brunswick Liberal leader sworn in as member of the legislature

FREDERICTON - New Brunswick's Liberal leader is now officially a member of the provincial legislature.

Brian Gallant was sworn-in at a ceremony today in Fredericton.

The 31-year-old won a byelection in the riding of Kent two weeks ago.

He says he wants to bring civility to question period and identifies the two big issues as the economy and unemployment.

The Liberals have had an interim leader in the legislature since November 2010.

The Liberals hold 13 seats in the 55-seat legislature while the governing Progressive Conservatives have 41.

There is one Independent.
