It wouldn’t be summer in the Lower Mainland without cooling off your satay meat sweats with an ice bubble tea at one of Richmond’s night markets.

Two markets are about to make their annual appearance much to the delight – and appetite – of locals.

The International Summer Night Market is set to open every weekend from May 10 to Sept. 8 at Vulcan Way. It's been called one of the "world's top night markets" by BBC Travel.

Sixty-one food stands and catering trucks will be on site to feed hungry patrons. Nearly 200 retail vendors will also be selling popular night market goods like phone accessories, clothing and toys.

Parking fees are $4 per vehicle. If your group is planning to arrive with an entourage of cars, the Summer Night Market has a ten-car parking deal available for $25. There is no admission fee.

On the other side of the city is the Richmond Night Market which will be open on weekends starting on May 17. Located near the River Rock Casino, 80 booths will be dedicated to food while 250 have been set aside for the retail bazaar.

General admission is $2 while children under 10 and seniors over 60 get in free. Parking is also free.

Expect large, sweaty crowds and long parking waits.

Hours:

Both markets will be open Fridays, Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m., Sundays from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Locations:

International Summer Night Market: 12631 Vulcan Way, Richmond, B.C.

Richmond Night Market: 8351 River Rd., Richmond B.C.
