They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul and some celebs at the 2013 Met Gala took that saying to heart with their extreme eye makeup.
"Twilight" hottie Kristen Stewart matched her makeup to her dress when she covered her eyelids with burgundy eyeshadow which brought out her army-green eyes.
The 23-year-old left the rest of her flawless face bare with only a hint of nude lipgloss and some powder. We're sure boyfriend Robert Pattinson loved her sexy look, but the couple didn't meet up until after the Gala.
But KStew's gorgeous eyes were nothing in compared to Ginnfer Goodwin and January Jones who both rocked elaborate eye makeup.
Ginnifer, who stars in TV's "Once Upon a Time," channeled her inner Cleopatra with striking black eyeshadow and liner that highlighted her heavy brows.
Canadian Jessica Paré must gotten insider information about Ginnifer because the "Mad Men" star showed up at the Met Gala with the exact same eye makeup! That must have been a bit awkward.
"Mad Men's" January Jones went for a razzle-dazzle look with tiny black jewels lining the inside of her eyes and heavy black eyeliner that cut off at the bottom and top of her eyelid.
January's bleached blond brows, which were also powdered white, made her eyes out even more.
Unfortunately some actresses got a bit carried away with their eyeshadow. Case in point teen star Elle Fanning who seemed to replicate Ziggy Stardust's outrageous look with lots of blue and pink shadow.
Other celebs such as Kelly Obourne and Emily Blunt also had extravagant eye makeup.
What do you think of their wild looks?
