Demi Lovato First Performer Announced For The 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards

The MuchMusic Video Awards today announced pop star Demi Lovato as its first performer for the annual spectacle taking place June 16 at MuchMusic Headquarters in Toronto.

"I am so excited to perform for the first time at the MMVAs," Lovato said in a press release. "I always love coming to MuchMusic and am thrilled to be a part of this year's show!"

More performers and presenters are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. The often-wild event will have a Red Carpet special beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern and the awards show an hour later.

Voting is also now open in three Your Fave categories, Your Fave Video, Your Fave Artist/Group and Your Fave International Artist/Group.

Your Fave Video Nominees of the year include Drake ("Started From The Bottom"), Classified ("Inner Ninja"), Hedley ("Kiss Your Inside Out") and Marianas Trench ("Stutter"). Anjulie, The Weeknd, The Sheepdogs, Billy Talent and Deadmau5 are the category's bonus wildcard nominees.

Lovato is nominated in the Your Fave International Artist/Group of the Year alongside Psy, Taylor Swift and One Direction along with wildcard nominees Rihanna, Pink, Justin Timberlake, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Bruno Mars.

Your Fave Artist/Group of the Year includes Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Drake and Deadmau5 with wildcard nominees being Tegan And Sara, Walk Off The Earth, Hedley, Marianas Trench and The Weeknd.
