4 sent to hospital in multi-vehicle Surrey crash

Three people were sent to hospital with minor injuries while a fourth is suffering from possible life-threatening injuries, after a multi-car collision in Surrey on Saturday.

A total of five vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened on 140th Street and 78A Avenue just before 2 p.m. PT, police say.

Drivers in a minivan and pickup truck were trapped in their vehicles, and firefighters had to use the jaws of life to rescue them.

The cause of the crash is not yet known. Police are investigating.

As of 5 p.m. PT, 140th Street between 78th Avenue and 80th Avenue remains closed.
