Police find bodies of man, woman dead in Lanaudière region

Police have confirmed the death of two people in what appears to be a homicide-suicide in the Lanaudière region, north of Montreal.

On Sunday morning, at about 10 a.m., police responding to a call found the body of a woman inside her home on Notre Dame Street in L'Épiphanie.

Quebec provincial police Sgt. Benoît Richard said information led officers to Rawdon, a nearby municipality, where they discovered the body of a man.

Police say it is unclear for the time being whether the two individuals were a couple, but at least one of the individuals did have children.

He confirmed that police are considering the hypothesis of a homicide-suicide.

"Obviously we are still at the beginning of our investigation and we still have a lot of things to verify," he said.
