Leafs Fan's Smashed TV Ad A Fake (UPDATED)

Leafs Fan's Smashed TV Ad A Fake

UPDATE: HuffPost Canada has learned that the TV in the online ad is likely a fake.

The photo appears to have been taken and posted online to Flickr in 2008. Sadly, the Leafs still lost Monday night's game against the Boston Bruins. That pain is very much real.

Toronto Maple Leaf fans were rendered silent, stared in disbelief and gaped at the giant screen in Maple Leaf Square on Monday night as they suffered a heart-wrenching 5-4 overtime loss in Game 7 to the Boston Bruins. But some fans couldn’t restrain themselves at home.

In a Kijiji posting under the category “electronics,” one fan has put a broken 50 inch LCD Samsung flat-screen TV up for immediate sale. There is no mention of the price apart from a message of “Please Contact” to an address at 40 Bay Street. The posting has been visited 13,494 times since being listed on May 13.

The TV (pictured below) was, according to the posting, “used lightly to watch Maple Leaf playoff hockey” and “suffered an unrelated impact that rendered the screen useless approximately 20 minutes ago.”
