Mike Duffy’s resignation from the Tory caucus and explosive allegations against Toronto mayor Rob Ford sent shockwaves throughout Canada on Thursday night.
Then, on Friday morning, the ground literally shook.
Earthquakes Canada registered a 5.1-magnitude temblor with an epicenter located northeast of Shawville, Que., about an hour’s drive outside Ottawa. The quake — and 4.2-magnitude aftershock — was felt in Ottawa, Montreal and parts of Toronto.
Of course, many took to Twitter to comment on the breaking news and couldn’t resist drawing some kind of between three weird news stories to occur in less than 24 hours.
Unfortunately, many poked fun at the weight problems of both Duffy and Ford, which some Twitter users didn’t appreciate.
But others made some pretty funny political observations that can be found in the gallery below.
