Pop rockers Marianas Trench's use of a gospel choir during their Juno Awards performance of "Stutter" must have caused some divine sympathy because they lead the pack with six nominations at this year's MuchMusic Video Awards (MMVAs).

Nominees were announced last evening with Drake just behind with five nominations and Classified at four. Billy Talent, Serena Ryder and deadmau5 all have three apiece.

Some of the nominations for Marianas Trench include Pop Video of the Year for "Desperate Measures," the fan-selected Your Fave Artist/Group and MuchFact Video of the Year for "Stutter." "Desperate Measures" is also nominated for Video of the Year along with Drake ("Started From The Bottom"), Serena Ryder ("Stompa"), Classified ("Inner Ninja") and The Weeknd's "Wicked Games." Both Drake and Classified are also in the Your Fave Video category with Billy Talent, Hedley and Marianas Trench.

One also can't forget to mention Jon Bon Jovi's enemy Justin Bieber, who has two nominations: one for International Video of the Year by a Canadian (competing against Avril Lavigne, Carly Rae Jepsen, Tegan And Sara and Walk Off The Earth) and the other for Your Fave Artist/Group.

International artists also have some nominations, including Jay-Z, Rihanna, Kanye West and Mumford & Sons.

Korean K-Pop star Psy will be co-hosting and performing at the awards. Demi Lovato has also been confirmed to perform. The MMVAs are set for Sunday, June 16 at 9 p.m. Eastern. More performers as well as presenters will be announced in the days and weeks to come. A complete list of all nominations and categories is available at the MMVA website.
