Body found in Lake Ontario near Toronto's Queen's Quay

Police are investigating a suspicious death after a grisly discovery on the Lake Ontario waterfront on Wednesday.

Police are confirming they found female human remains inside a plastic bag just after 12 p.m. The marine unit discovered the bag floating 30 metres off shore near Yonge Street and Queen’s Quay during a routine patrol.

The body was moved to a nearby parking lot, sectioned off by police as they questioned witnesses.

"The death is considered suspicious," Const. Victor Kwong said on Thursday.

Forensic officers and homicide detectives are now investigating.

So far police are releasing no other details on the case, including the age or identification of the deceased.
