Discovery of human remains prompts police search

The discovery of human remains in Toronto's west end led investigators to search a section of the Humber River control channel on Monday.

The human remains were found along a hiking trail near Jane Street and Alliance Avenue on Friday.

Police say the remains belong to a deceased female.

Few details have been released about the ongoing search efforts, though police searched through garbage at the edge of a nearby ravine and removed two dumpsters from the area.
