Erik Roner's Snowmobile Cliff Jump Tribute To Shane McConkey (SNOWMOBILE VIDEO)

Extreme athlete Erik Roner paid tribute to his friend, the late Shane McConkey, the only way he knew how: by taking an epic jump off an 800-foot cliff -- in a snowmobile!

Roner, a California-based skier and base jumper, posted a video to YouTube in mid-May that showed him jumping off a cliff near Fernie, B.C., riding a snowmobile given to him by legendary extreme athlete McConkey. McConkey died in a base jumping accident in Italy's Dolomite mountains in 2009.

Roner explained in the video that it was time for him to get a new snowmobile, and he wanted to dispose of it "correctly".

The video shows Roner being airlifted to the top of the cliff by helicopter and spreading McConkey's ashes all around.

It then shows him driving off the precipice, abandoning the snowmobile mid-air and parachuting to safety as the vehicle tumbles to a snowy grave.

"Sick, Roner, we got the shots, we're stylin'. That was dynamite," a voice says over a walkie-talkie.

This isn't the first time that Roner has pulled off an insane stunt. Earlier this year he posted a video showing him skydiving with a patio umbrella.
