Don’t count on Toronto Mayor Rob Ford to show up at this year’s Pride Parade.
In an interview with KiSS 92.5 on Saturday, Ford said he would not attend Toronto's annual event if it interferes with his traditional family vacation up north for Canada Day.
“If it lands on the same weekend when I take my family up north, of course my family comes first,” he said.
Ford added he didn’t know what date this year’s parade falls on.

The parade is scheduled for June 30, beginning at 2 p.m.
Ford has not attended the Pride Parade since he was elected as mayor, attracting controversy in the past.
Pride’s executive director Kevin Beaulieu told the Toronto Star Ford’s decision isn't a surprise, and emphasized how important it would be for him to show up.
“It’s a chance to connect with our communities in a very meaningful way. It's important, particularly when there are some questions about what he may or may not have said in the past,” he said.
In the interview, Ford said he has “no problem” with kicking off the Pride festivities, which take place June 21-30, by raising the rainbow flag at city hall.
He also addressed Saturday’s rally, where protesters called for his resignation amid allegations of crack cocaine use, which Ford has repeatedly denied.
“If people want me to resign early… that’s their prerogative, but I guarantee one thing: I’m going to be on the ballot” for re-election.
