Justin Bieber Is Heading To Space

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber is heading to space as part of British travel tycoon Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic program, which is promising sub-orbital flights for "space tourists."

The 19-year-old singer who grew up in Stratford, Ont., will be joined by his manager, Scooter Braun.

Actors Ashton Kutcher and Leonardo DiCaprio are among the other famous names who have signed up for flights with Virgin Galactic, People magazine reported at its website. The initial deposit is said to be $250,000 US.

“Great to hear @justinbieber & @scooterbraun are latest @virgingalactic future astronauts. Congrats, see you up there!” Virgin chief Branson tweeted on June 5, according to reports. Bieber retweeted the Branson message.

Bieber tweeted in February that he wanted to do a concert in space.

That was before Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield serenaded the planet in May from the International Space Station with the David Bowie classic Space Oddity.
