LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - Rozalyn Joy Prairie Chicken, a 34-year-old woman from Lethbridge, Alta., is facing charges after a 15-year-old boy told police he had been sexually assaulted.

Police heard of the alleged sexual assault when they responded to a disturbance in the city's north side, said Lethbridge Regional Police Service Executive Officer Kristen Harding.

"During the investigation it was disclosed to police that a 15-year-old boy had been sexually assaulted by a 34-year-old female acquaintance in late April 2013," she said.

Chicken has been charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

She was released from custody with multiple conditions including no contact with the alleged victim and is not allowed to be in the presence of children under 16, other than her own.

Prairie Chicken is to appear in court on June 26.
