VANCOUVER - As Premier Christy Clark prepares for a byelection, likely next month, in her chosen riding of Westside-Kelowna, another B.C., Liberal is also making changes.
Langley City Mayor and newly-elected Surrey-Fleetwood MLA, Peter Fassbender, says he has resigned as chairman of BC Pavilion Corporation, which operates BC Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre.
The resignation is in preparation for Fassbender's swearing-in as an MLA and his possible inclusion in Clark's new cabinet, which is expected to be announced Friday.
Fassbender says he is also discussing transition plans prior to a mayoral byelection in Langley City.
He expects those details to be settled within the next 10 days, allowing him to resign as mayor in early July.
Meanwhile, fellow newly-elected Vancouver-Fraserview Liberal MLA Suzanne Anton is also taking off some of her administrative hats, and has resigned as a member of the PavCo board. (CKNW)
