Cattrall series and St-Pierre doc set for The Movie Network, Movie Central

BANFF, Alta. - A comedy series starring Kim Cattrall, and documentaries on Montreal UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and Penthouse founder Bob Guccione are set for The Movie Network and Movie Central.

Astral’s The Movie Network (Eastern Canada) and Corus Entertainment’s Movie Central (Western Canada) say they're among the projects greenlit for production this year.

Cattrall's half-hour series "Sensitive Skin" is an adaptation of a U.K. series and features a woman going through a mid-life crisis.

Don McKellar will co-star and direct the series, which is slated to begin shooting in Toronto in October and air in 2014.

Already in production is the St-Pierre film "The DNA of GSP," directed by Peter Svatek and Kristian Manchester. No airdate has been announced.

And "Filthy Gorgeous: The Bob Guccione Story," from director/producer Barry Avrich, is already completed and is tentatively slated to broadcast this fall.

The networks' lineups also include the fourth season of Jason Priestley's comedy series "Call Me Fitz" as well as his yet-to-be-released feature directorial debut "Cas and Dylan."

Atom Egoyan’s "Queen of the Night" and Denis Villeneuve's "Enemy" are among the other films in the lineup, which also includes the return of the stand-up series "Funny as Hell" and the documentaries "Fanarchists: The Fan Film Phenomenon" and "Hip Hop Evolution."
