The Buffalo Sabres on Thursday announced that Jhonas Enroth has been given a two-year contract.
The Swedish netminder, who turns 25 next week, was set to become a restricted free agent. The Sabres did not disclose financial details for Enroth, who earned just over $725,000 US the past season.
Enroth has compiled a 21-18-7 record in his NHL career, spent entirely as backup in Buffalo to Ryan Miller. He's recorded three shutouts in 52 total appearances, with a .914 save percentage and 2.72 goals-against average.
Enroth starred at the recent world championships for Sweden, helping lead the team to a gold medal.
