Every year in the fair city of Toronto, you’ll notice a sudden spike in exposed washboard abs, pelvic muscles over low hanging jeans, faux hawks and dominatrix-clad men and women.

No, it’s not the XXX convention (although that would make sense based on the outrageous getups and exposed skin you’ll witness.) No, it’s the city’s much lauded celebration of LGBT culture also known as Pride 2013!

People come from all over the world to participate in North America’s largest gay pride celebration including celebrities. After all, a big part of lgbt pride is glitz, glam and being proud of what your mama gave you.

We’re sure that if these openly gay celebrities weren’t busy filming, hosting their own TV shows or just showing off their equally hot partners on red carpets, they would be out and about on Church Street preening for the cameras.

Stylish Gay Celebrities

Here is a list of our favourite openly gay celebs:

Neil Patrick Harris

He may play chauvinistic womanizer Barney Stinson on “How I Met Your Mother” but NPH is anything but. The former mini doctor is openly gay and in a relationship with a total babe who can cook! His partner, David Burtka is a jack-of-all-trades, dabbling in acting, singing and cooking. The stylish couple always look on point when making appearances, walking their dogs or taking their adorable kids out. How could you not melt when seeing displays like this?

The steely-eyed silver fox who is as sharply dressed as he is witty, came out in 2012. Since then, the CNN anchor has been an active proponent of gay rights receiving the GLAAD Vito Russo Award for his efforts. His partner, Ben Maisani, is also a catch who owns several restaurants and nightclubs in New York City. The two are often seen happily biking around New York City in form fitting shirts. Keep your eyes peeled for them!

Portia De Rossi

Portia De Rossi is well known as talk show host Ellen DeGeneres’ other half. The "Arrested Development" star proves all lesbian stereotypes wrong in the way she dresses and carries herself. The blond bombshell is as graceful as a gazelle and the picture of femininity, often opting for designer gowns and form fitting dresses. We love seeing what Portia will wear on the red carpet and she complements DeGeneres’ laid back style to a tee.

Cynthia Nixon

“Sex and the City” star Cynthia Nixon is bisexual and she’s probably worn more designer duds in one season of the hit show then you will in your entire life.

Nixon is another startlet who shows the world that women who prefer other women aren’t all prone to wearing bandanas and plaid. Although the redhead has proclaimed that she could care less about fashion, you’d never know it based on her impeccable red carpet style. (And have you seen her gorgeous yellow tulle wedding gown?)

Jim Parsons

Jim Parsons, who many of us know as the loveable socially awkward geek Sheldon Cooper on “The Big Bang Theory,” is more tight lipped when it comes to discussing his sexuality.

The 40-year-old is openly gay but unlike some stars, he doesn’t shout it from the rooftops. Parsons is often seen looking dapper at red carpet events with his partner of 10 years but prefers not to gush about his status.

Unlike his on-screen character Sheldon, who favours graphic tees over long-sleeved shirts, Jim opted for killer looks in a GQ spread wearing a plaid button down, laceless loafers and cropped grey slacks.

Happy Pride Week!
