Emergency plans were implemented at the zoo after Calgary was swamped by floodwaters that submerged much of the lower bowl of the Saddledome hockey arena, displaced tens of thousands of people and forced the evacuation of the downtown core.
The deaths of one peacock and tropical fish were reported on Sunday, while other animals appeared to be doing fine.
