Everything changed in Egypt Wednesday as the military ousted president Mohammed Morsi in a coup that will lead to a temporary suspension of democracy.

Egyptian military chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced that a government led by the chief justice of Egypt's constitutional court will direct the country in the interim. How long the transition will be and when new elections will be held remains unclear.

The massive crowd in Cairo's Tahrir Square reacted with jubilation, dancing and fireworks.
