Diane Ablonczy, Alberta Tory MP, To Leave Politics In 2015

OTTAWA - Conservative MP Diane Ablonczy says she won't run again in 2015.

The announcement from Ablonczy, who represents the riding of Calgary-Nose Hill, comes as Prime Minister Stephen Harper prepares to shuffle his cabinet.

Harper has asked his caucus to let him know their re-election plans as he considers who to assign to the cabinet table.

Ablonczy's decision follows similar news from Alberta MP Ted Menzies, who announced Tuesday he will not run in the next election.

Ablonczy was first elected to the House of Commons in 1993 as a Reform MP.

She is currently minister of state for foreign affairs, a job she has held since 2011.
