With all this buzz about the Duchess of Cambridge's near due date, it's hard to believe the royal couple at one point entered splitsville.
New details from the book Kate by Michael O’Mara, notes the couple experienced heartbreak and later called it quits in March 2007, according to the Daily Mail.
Prince William, who was caught in the middle of drinking and partying with "glamorous half-naked girls," was one reason the couple decided to part ways.
Besides the dramatic headlines, the book also goes into details about what each of them did in their time off. Kate, for example, kept herself busy during the breakup by attending art exhibits for her friends and travelling with her mom, while the Duke of Cambridge focused on charities.

But it wasn't long before the couple put the past aside and made up in September. "They stayed at the Desroches Island Resort, checking in under the names ‘Martin and Rosemary Middleton’, and went kayaking and snorkelling in the shallow coral reef," writes Marcia Moody for the Daily Mail.
In April this year, the couple celebrated their second year anniversary, and close sources say expecting a baby has made their bond stronger than ever.
We also know Prince William is a changed man. Since proposing marriage in October 2010, he has played the part of a loving and devoted husband , who even has a helicopter on standby for the birth of his first child, according to the U.K.'s Sun.
It was also revealed on Monday that Kate is officially carrying a little Prince or Princess. Buckingham Palace has confirmed the His or Her Royal Highness Prince or Princess of Cambridge will also be a historical first.
O'Mara's book also has other rare details like when Will and Kate first interacted, her Arabic skills and what she carries in her clutch.
