New Brunswick premier offers condolences following train disaster in Quebec

FREDERICTON - The premier of New Brunswick has written a letter of condolence to Quebec Premier Pauline Marois following the rail disaster in Lac-Megantic, Que., over the weekend.

At least 13 people are dead and nearly 40 others missing after explosions and fire involving a train derailed in the community.

It was taking crude oil to the Irving Oil refinery in Saint John, N.B.

Alward wrote to say that the provincial government and all New Brunswickers offer condolences to the people of Lac-Megantic and residents of Quebec.

He says New Brunswick stands ready to provide any support if needed.
