Toronto Flooding Photos Emerge As Torrential Rain Hits City (PHOTOS)

LOOK: Heavy Rain Causes Traffic Chaos In Toronto

A weather system that brought down heavy rain in Toronto flooded streets, knocking out power to some neighbourhoods in the city.

Before 7 p.m., power was out in several neighbourhoods, including the city's waterfront, parts of downtown, and other areas such as Bloor West Village. Toronto Hydro reported earlier that more than 6,000 people were without power in Etobicoke. Twitter, under the #darkto hashtag, saw reports of power out in North York and even the as far west as Oakville.

What emerged from social media feeds were stunning -- a flooded Don Valley Parkway, a rescue at a GO Train and major streets turned into mini lakes.
