Calgary Stampede 2013: Deep-Fried Treatment For Cowboy Boots, Belt Buckle And Hat

WATCH: What Happens When You Deep-Fry A Cowboy Hat

Deep-fried foods are a staple of the Calgary Stampede midway (see: mini donuts, corndogs), but what happens when you slather batter on your cowboy hat and sink it in bubbling-hot oil?

That's what the staff at the Calgary Stampede set off to find out, when they attempted to deep-fry a cowboy hat, pair of kids' blue jeans and a boot - among other things.

The results are pretty funny and wholly unappetizing. Lesson learned? While you may be able to deep-fry just about anything, it doesn't mean you should.

Click through the gallery below to see the results of the Stampede's adventures in deep-frying, as well as the other delicious/revolting offerings on this year's Stampede midway.
