Jim Bennett's Daft Punk 'Get Lucky' Cover Goes Viral (VIDEO)

LOOK: Vancouver Man's Daft Punk Cover Goes Viral

There's something quite perfect about Jim Bennett's cover of Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" taking YouTube by storm.

The Vancouver man needed all the luck he could muster earlier this year when he was given a mere 10 per cent chance of survival after doctors diagnosed him with necrotizing pancreatitis on New Year's Day, CBC reported. He spent the next three months in hospital undergoing a series of surgeries, beating those grim odds and keeping his spirits up by picking away at a guitar his mother and girlfriend brought in for him.

"It was really important to start feeding the soul, I guess," he told CBC.

Now at home recuperating, Bennett found the Daft Punk track really resonating with him, he told The Vancouver Sun, so one day he just sat down with a mike and recorded it.

The video has ratcheted up over 500,00 views and counting, something that Bennett says he finds "pretty overwhelming."

He's not taking anything for granted, and says he is re-evaluating all the things are really important to him, MSN news reported.

"I basically have a second chance at life," he said.
