62 kilos of cocaine found in truck at B.C. border crossing

A truckload of food that arrived at B.C.’s Pacific Highway border crossing from California included some extra goods in the form of suspected cocaine.

The Canada Border Services Agency says it seized 62 kilos, or 52 bricks, of cocaine hidden in cardboard boxes.

It’s the largest interception of the drug in B.C. since July 2011, when officers seized 115 kilos of cocaine at the same border crossing.

The driver was arrested and the RCMP is now investigating.
