Duchess Of Cambridge Baby: What Will Kate Middleton Wear When She Leaves The Hospital? (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

What Will Kate Wear When She Leaves The Hospital?

It's been almost a month since the Duchess of Cambridge has been seen in public, and we're getting impatient for Prince William's wife to give birth to the royal heir so we can see what her first outfit as a new mom will be.

Kate Middleton, who is expected to go into labour any day now, won't be seen by us commoners until she leaves the hospital with the third-in-line to the throne, which makes us wonder: What will she wear??

Story continues below the slideshow:

Duchess Kate might look to the late Princess Diana for inspiration; Will and Harry's mum sported a loose, billowy green frock with an adorable white bow collar when she left St. Mary's Hospital in 1982 with Catherine Cambridge's future husband.

Diana, who also had fun maternity style, went bold when she left the same hospital after giving birth to Prince Harry in 1984 in a bright red under-the-knee frock with a Peter Pan collar and long sleeves.

Not coincidentally, Catherine will also be giving birth to the future monarch (we still don't know whether the wee one will be a boy or a girl) at the same hospital as the Princess of Wales so Diana's spirit will definitely be felt in that room on that joyous day.

While we can't predict what Kate will wear when she inevitably reveals the royal baby to the world, we can say with near certainty that she won't sport short shorts or a disco ball top.

Most likely, the Duchess will sport one of her elegant maternity looks which leaves her with many options including a lace peach empire waist frock, an adorable polka dot dress and a cute baby blue outfit.

Comfort, elegance and elastic waistbands will take precedence over designer outfits.
