A suspected military shell was found by a man out walking Monday night in the Weaselhead area of Glenmore Park in the city's southwest.
The area was cordoned off and the police bomb squad was called in.
There were no injuries and the object was later detonated where it was found.
It's the second time in two weeks that suspected old military munitions have turned up in the Weaselhead site, which was a military training range decades ago.
Officials speculate the late-June flood may have unearthed the shells and perhaps moved them to a different location.
