Cory Monteith fans hold Vancouver vigil

A small crowd has gathered for a candlelight vigil for Cory Monteith at the Vancouver hotel where the Glee star died of a heroin overdose last weekend.

Fans of the 31-year-old actor carried candles and flowers, while others left handwritten notes and cards.

Monteith was found dead by staff at the Fairmont Pacific Rim on Saturday afternoon when he failed to check out of the hotel.

On Tuesday, the B.C. Coroners service confirmed Monteith died from a mix of heroin and alcohol in his body.

The next season of the hit show has been delayed by a week in the wake of the death of the actor who played Finn Hudson, a high school quarterback and glee club member.
