Edmonton's biggest summer festival kicked off with big performances, a parade and brand new attractions.

Carly Rae Jepsen and Burton Cummings performed to cheering crowds at K-Days, previously known as Klondike Days.

Midway rides, foods and entertainment are part of the festival that runs from July 19-28, with mini doughnuts, deep-fried pie and jalapeno fudge completing the traditional offerings.

Organizers even spotted a bride and groom stepping off a ferris wheel on the grounds.

“We know that so many of you create long-lasting memories and traditions with your family at K-Days,” said Richard L. Andersen, CFE, president and CEO of Northlands in a statement.

“At this year’s festival, we will have exhibits to suit everyone in your family from the sports fanatic to the dreamer,” said Andersen.
