George Alexander Louis. As soon we received word of the royal baby's name and title—His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge— Twitter was quick to have a say.
Though the name was hardly a surprise —it was the most popular bet among bookies — it still prompted a flood of positive and supportive reactions from royal fans including singer Boy George who tweeted: "Prince Georgie! Beautiful!"
Others were jokingly relieved that the royal baby wasn't named North West or Blanket.
Originally of Greek origin, George means “farmer” and was popular from the 1830s to the 1950s. Going back in history George was also the name of the Kings of Britain for 116 years straight, as well as the famous dragon slayer Saint George.
And besides the name's royal significance, we also know a few famous Georges these days, including George Clooney, George Hamilton and even George Louis Costanza from "Seinfeld."
