Ontario's McLobster Dreams Have Come True

Shuck on that Atlantic Canada, Ontario now has the McLobster.

At least until August 23 in participating restaurants.

"Ontarians have been asking us to serve the McLobster for years," Anne Parks, director of menu management at McDonald's Canada, said in a press release.

"We listened and are excited to bring the McLobster and deliver an authentic Maritime taste experience our customers in Ontario can enjoy."

But it's not just blind benevolence that drove McDonald's to gift Ontario with the sandwich. Ontarians, according to Parks, consume more fish sandwiches than citizens in other parts of the country.

"In fact, more than 40 per cent of the fish sandwiches, including Filet-O-Fish®, are sold in Ontario so we felt strongly that the McLobster would be a real hit if we brought it here," she said.

The McLobster will cost $6.79 plus tax.

It will be made with 100 per cent Atlantic lobster meat and include celery, green onions and even a lemon "mayonnaise-style" sauce.
