B.C. man charged in Whitehorse murder

A B.C. man has been charged with first-degree murder and arson in connection with the death of a Whitehorse man in 2010.

RCMP arrested 21 year old Alexander Dennis Thursday in Aggassiz, B.C.

He appeared in court and was remanded in custody. He'll be transferred to Whitehorse where he will be held in custody pending further court appearances.

Dennis is charged with killing Gordon Tubman and setting his trailer on fire.

Tubman, 41, was living in the trailer at a gravel pit outside of Whitehorse where he was working as a night watchman.

Firefighters were called to the scene in the early hours on Sunday, Aug. 15, but found the trailer to be fully engulfed by flames. Tubman’s body was found inside and investigators concluded there had been foul play involved.
