Cyclist seriously injured in Montreal North collision

A cyclist in his late forties is in serious condition in hospital after he was struck by a car shortly before 10 a.m. on Sunday.

The cyclist was travelling east on Bellevois Ave. near Henri-Bourassa Blvd. in Montreal North when he was hit by a car going north.

According to Const. Raphaël Bergeron of the Montreal police, the driver — a woman in her fifties — didn’t see the cyclist, hit him and then dragged him for a couple of metres before stopping.

The cyclist was conscious but seriously injured when paramedics found him. The driver was treated for shock.
