Driver killed in crash near Lafontaine Tunnel

A 56-year-old man is dead after he lost control of his car on Highway 25 and crashed near the exit of the Louis-Hippolyte-Lafontaine Tunnel.

The crash happened in the northbound lanes just after 10 p.m. Sunday.

Quebec provincial police said the man was alone in the sports car when his vehicle struck another car and hit the guardrail.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was injured in the crash.
