Orleans man dies after tree falls on him in west Quebec

An man from Ottawa's Orelans district died in the Val-des-Monts, Que. area Saturday after the tree he was cutting down fell onto him.

The MRC des Collines de l'Outaouais police force said they were called to the scene at Lac Bois-Franc after the incident occured at about 2 p.m. Saturday.

The man, 52, was unconscious when first responders arrived.

After attempts to resuscitate him failed, he was rushed by ambulance to Wakefield hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating in an attempt to establish the cause and circumstances of his death.
